Careers

Beechworth Secondary College is a member of the CEAV careers association.

At Beechworth Secondary College we believe all students are entitled to individual attention and personalised programs. Part of this is Careers guidance from an early age. We are implementing the National Careers Framework in our school.

We Provide:

  • Individual counselling at Years 10,11,12
  • Work Experience at Year 10
  • Excursions to Careers Expos
  • Expert advice from apprenticeship facilitators
  • Access to employment agencies
  • Application for Tax File Numbers
  • Resume writing
  • University experiences

At Our School:

At Year 7 students have discussions around what they are good at, learning styles, interests and how this relates to Careers choices.

At Year 9 students explore values and aspirations. They explore employment industries and begin to select subjects that are relevant to their goals.

At Year 10 our students complete a two term Careers course prior to Work Experience.

Year 11 and 12 students attend the Age Careers Expo, and have the opportunity to speak with Employment experts, Centrelink representatives and Tertiary providers throughout the year.
