Health & PE Overview Print
Physical Education

Physical Education aims at developing the individual student’s practical performance in the two main areas of motor skills acquisition and general fitness. At Year 7 and 8 level, students participate in a large variety of physical activities. At Year 9 students can select from an even wider range of physical and theoretical activities. Physical Education electives are offered at Year 10 within the current elective block.

Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education is offered to Year 9 as a Term unit , to Year 10 as a Semester unit and VCE Units 1 & 2 Outdoor and Environmental studies. Both middle school units are aimed at introducing students, safely, to a wide range of outdoor activities including kayaking, cycling, abseiling, bushwalking, orienteering and survival swimming using local environments. Both structures provide plenty of opportunity for students, at these levels, to participate in outdoor education.

Health Studies

Health Studies is taught to all students in Years 7 to 10. This study develops students understanding of their bodies, their behaviour and attitudes, their relationships with others and promotes their decision-making abilities. Students learn how to communicate effectively, maintain a positive self-image, practise healthy lifestyle habits, live safely in the community and become aware of the importance of relationships.
